Central Europe by Train: Budapest, Vienna & Prague

The Budapest, Vienna & Prague by Train package includes 12 nights: 4 nights in Budapest, 4 nights in Vienna, and 4 nights in Prague. Round-trip flights, airport transfers, train tickets between all three cities, hotels, booking-related taxes and fees, and an expert trip manager are all included. Meals, experiences, and transfers to and from train stations are not included.

Train tickets are fully included. You travel by train from Budapest to Vienna on day 5 and from Vienna to Prague on day 9. Both are comfortable, scenic intercity trains. Transfers between your hotel and the train stations are not included - all three stations are well connected to the city center by metro and are easy to reach independently. 

All three train stations are easily reachable by metro from the city center. Budapest Keleti Station is served by metro M2 and M4, approximately 10 to 20 minutes from most central hotels. Vienna Hauptbahnhof is served by the U1 metro line, approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the inner city. Prague Hlavní Nádraží is served by metro line C, approximately 10 to 15 minutes from the Old Town. Taxis and rideshares are also available at all three stations.

Yes Getaways offers 3, 4, and 5-star hotels across all three cities. In Budapest, the pool includes the Four Seasons Gresham Palace, The Ritz-Carlton, and Párisi Udvar Hotel by Hyatt alongside 3 and 4-star options. In Vienna, options include Rosewood Vienna, Park Hyatt, and Palais Hansen Kempinski as well as 4-star boutique properties. In Prague, the pool includes Augustine by Luxury Collection, The Grand Mark, and a strong selection of 4-star hotels. Hotels are centrally located but some light walking may be needed. No. Meals are not included. Breakfast depends on the hotel rate selected. Complimentary breakfast can be prioritized on request - contact the Yes Getaways team when booking and we will do our best to arrange it. Budapest, Vienna, and Prague each have outstanding food scenes worth exploring independently, from Hungarian goulash and chimney cakes to Viennese schnitzel and Czech svíčková.

Yes. Airport transfers are included for your arrival in Budapest and your departure from Prague. Transfers between hotels and train stations are not included but are easy to arrange independently using the metro in all three cities.

No guided experiences are included in the base package. This is a fully independent trip. Optional add-on experiences are available in Budapest including a Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour, a Buda Walking Tour, a Danube Cruise with Welcome Drink, and a Budapest All in One Sightseeing and River Cruise Tour.

U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need a visa to visit Hungary, Austria, or the Czech Republic for stays under 90 days. All three countries are part of the Schengen Area, which means you cross borders freely by train with no passport checks between them. A valid passport is required and should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Entry requirements can change - it is the traveler's responsibility to verify current visa and passport requirements before departure through their government's official travel advisory website.

Yes. Budapest, Vienna, and Prague are popular, well-touristed European cities that welcome millions of international visitors each year including large numbers of U.S. and Canadian travelers. Standard precautions apply in crowded tourist areas - watch for pickpockets near major attractions and on busy public transport routes. Yes. Round-trip flights are included. Other departure cities are available on request. Contact the Yes Getaways team before booking to discuss departure options. Seat selection, extra baggage, and cabin class upgrades are not included in the package price but can be arranged with the team before finalizing your booking as paid add-ons and subject to availability.

No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at each hotel. Budapest, Vienna, and Prague each charge a tourist tax per person per night. 

Yes. The package price is based on two travelers sharing a room. Solo travelers pay a single supplement. Contact the Yes Getaways team directly and we'll make it easy. All three cities work well year-round. Spring (April to June) and fall (September to October) offer mild temperatures, blooming parks, and fewer crowds than summer. Summer (July to August) is warm and lively but busy. Winter (December to February) transforms all three cities with Christmas markets, snow-covered architecture, and a magical atmosphere - particularly Vienna and Prague. Budapest's thermal baths are a year-round highlight.
