Suggestions for the day: Enjoy Somerset

• Stop in the town of Lynmouth and take a walk around before journeying to the medieval village of Dunster. Continue to Buckfast Abbey where you can gain insights into how Benedictine monks have lived and prayed for nearly 1,000 years. Back on the road to Plymouth next, where pilgrims once left English shores for an unknown new world. The port of Plymouth has a rich maritime history based on fishing, trade, and a long and continuing association with the Royal Navy. We also recommend checking out Plymouth’s National Marine Aquarium and visiting Plymouth Gin Distillery.

Suggestions for the day: Port Isaac, St Ives and Penzance

• Today,  travel to Port Isaac, a pretty fishing village and popular filming location for British television programs.  After, explore the lovely St. Ives, a popular retreat for artists, surfers, and sun-worshippers. You can soak up some sun on Porthmeor beach, visit the town’s iconic art gallery - Tate St Ives,  admire Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, and/or observe seals and other marine life in their natural habitat with Seal Island boat trip. You will spend the night in Penzance, the southest part of your road trip. 

Suggestions for the day: Dartmoor National Park and Bristol

• Today you will make your way to Bristol, where you will spend the night. We suggest you drive through Dartmoor National Park across the mysterious moors (you may even stop on the way and enjoy beautiful nature). Next, visit the 15th-century Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter. The 14th-century stone vault which forms the nave and quire ceiling is one of the glories of Exeter Cathedral. It is the longest continuous medieval stone vault in the world. Continue your journey to Bristol.

Suggestions for the day: Longleat House and Lacock

• Today drive through the English countryside, arriving at Longleat Stately Home where you can participate in a guided tour of one of the country's finest stately homes,  home to the former 7th Marquess of Bath. Wander through its grand rooms featuring priceless collections of art, antiques, and tapestries collected by 15 generations and admire the exquisite Capability Brown landscaped parkland. Later, we stop in the picturesque village of Lacock – its honey-colored stone cottages and 15th-century inns have served as an iconic backdrop for famous films such as 'Pride & Prejudice', 'Harry Potter' and 'Downton Abbey’. 

Suggestions for the day: Onwards to Stonehenge and London

• This morning, visit the ancient monoliths at Stonehenge, which rise imposingly on Salisbury Plain, imagining a time when pagans and druids would gather in their mysterious midst, before returning to London. Returning to London, you can explore this vibrant city some more and eat the last fish and chips of this trip.
