Yes. Round-trip flights are included, flying into and home from Malta International Airport. Other departure cities are available on request: contact the Yes Getaways team before booking. Seat selection, extra baggage and cabin upgrades are not included in the package price, but the team can arrange them as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

A standard economy or compact car is included for the whole stay, picked up and returned at Malta International Airport, with room for two to four passengers and luggage. Automatic or manual depends on availability. If you want an automatic or a larger car, a paid upgrade is available based on availability: contact the Yes Getaways team when booking.

Malta drives on the left, like the UK. Distances are short and most travelers adapt quickly, but roads can be narrow and busy around Valletta and Sliema, and there are many roundabouts. Take it slowly on the first day. An automatic car makes it easier; ask the Yes Getaways team about an upgrade.

For most U.S. and Canadian travelers, a valid driver's license is enough to drive in Malta. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended and some rental companies may ask for one, so we suggest getting it before you travel.

Parking is not always free and the cost is not included. Some hotels have free or paid parking and others use public parking nearby; it depends on the hotel you choose. Malta has no toll roads. Valletta has a controlled access system for cars on weekdays, so many travelers park at the entrance to the city and walk in.

This package includes hotels selected by the Yes Getaways team, mostly 3-star and 4-star, in areas such as Valletta, Sliema, St. Julian's or Mellieħa, close to restaurants, the sea and the main roads. You stay in the same hotel for all 7 nights.

Breakfast is not guaranteed. It can be added during the booking process, when available for your hotel and dates, or prioritized on request with the Yes Getaways team. Other meals are not included, which leaves you free to try pastizzi, rabbit stew and fresh fish around the island.

No. You pick up your rental car at Malta International Airport when you arrive and return it there before your flight home, so you do not need a transfer.

No guided experiences are included: this is an independent trip with a car. Optional experiences can be added, such as boat trips to Gozo and Comino, guided tours of Valletta, Mdina walking tours and food experiences. Contact the Yes Getaways team to add any before booking.

A car ferry runs from Ċirkewwa, in the north of Malta, to Mġarr on Gozo; the crossing takes about 25 minutes and the ferry is not included. Boats to Comino and the Blue Lagoon leave from Gozo and from the north of Malta.

U.S. and Canadian citizens do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days in Malta, which is part of the Schengen Area. Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months after your departure date. The EU is introducing ETIAS, an online travel authorization for visitors who do not need a visa, so check the official EU websites before you travel.

Yes. Malta is one of the safest destinations in the Mediterranean and popular with visitors from the U.S. and Canada. English is an official language, which makes getting around easy. Standard precautions apply in busy areas and in the nightlife district of St. Julian's.

No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the hotel.

Malta is a year-round destination. June to September is best for beaches and swimming. Spring and fall are warm and quieter, good for sightseeing and walks along the cliffs. Winter is mild compared to most of Europe.
