No. Berlin has one of the best public transport networks in Europe. The U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams, and buses connect all Christmas markets, historic sights, and neighborhoods efficiently. All hotels in this package are in central Berlin within walking distance or a short U-Bahn ride from the main markets. A car is not needed at any point on this trip.

Yes, round-trip flights are included. The package price varies depending on your departure airport. Other departure cities are available on request. Checked luggage is not always included and depends on the airline and fare type. Confirm what is included and add luggage if needed when booking. Seat selection and cabin class upgrades can be arranged as paid add-ons, subject to availability.

Berlin has more Christmas markets than any other city in Germany. Gendarmenmarkt is the most celebrated, set between two cathedrals with an entrance fee that keeps it less crowded and more curated. Charlottenburg Palace has one of the most atmospheric settings in Europe, with the palace floodlit behind the stalls. Alexanderplatz is the largest and most accessible, with an ice rink. Potsdamer Platz Winter World has snow tubing alongside the market. Spandau is one of the oldest in Germany and worth the short trip west. Most markets run from late November through the 3rd of January.

Yes. Berlin is one of the most visited and culturally rich cities in Europe year-round. Museums, galleries, history, nightlife, and food are all compelling outside of December. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons. Outside of December, the Christmas markets are not operating but the city more than justifies the visit. Popular add-ons include a private walking tour of Berlin, a day trip to Potsdam and Sanssouci Palace, a visit to Sachsenhausen, an East Berlin food and history tour, and tickets to the Friedrichstadt-Palast Grand Show. Berlin in December averages -1°C to 4°C (30°F to 39°F), with a good chance of snow and frost. It is colder and windier than Vienna or Prague in December. Pack warm layers, a heavy coat, waterproof boots, and gloves. The cold is part of what makes the markets feel authentic and the mulled wine taste better.

Yes. Berlin connects naturally with Prague by train in approximately 4 hours, and with Warsaw or Amsterdam for a wider Central or Northern European itinerary. Yes to both. The Yes Getaways team can add extra nights in Berlin or include a day trip to Potsdam or Dresden. If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a room and a single supplement applies. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for Germany, a Schengen Area country. Stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period are permitted without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for Schengen Area travel, is not yet mandatory. When it launches, we will contact you in advance. Entry requirements are the traveler's responsibility and can change.

The land portion of your package is refundable if cancelled at least 14 days before your travel date. Airfare is non-refundable from the moment it is issued.
