Train tickets are included for both connections. The Budapest to Vienna train takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. The Vienna to Prague train takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Both trains depart from and arrive at central stations, putting you in the heart of each city without additional transfers. All hotels in this package are centrally located and within walking distance or a short taxi from the train stations.

The Christmas markets, historic sights, and all hotels in this package are reachable on foot or by tram and metro. A car would be impractical in all three city centers. The two first-class trains between cities are included, and airport transfers are arranged at both ends.

All three cities are cold in December. Budapest averages 1°C to 6°C (34°F to 43°F), often overcast with occasional snow. Vienna is similar at 0°C to 5°C (32°F to 41°F), with snow possible. Prague is the coldest of the three at -1°C to 4°C (30°F to 39°F), with the highest chance of snow. Pack warm layers, a waterproof coat, and comfortable walking shoes. The cold is part of what makes the markets feel like Christmas.
Yes to all three. The Yes Getaways team can add extra nights in any city, include Salzburg, Bratislava, or Krakow, or adjust the itinerary to fit your preferences. If you are travelling solo, the package price is based on two travelers sharing a room and a single supplement applies. US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for Hungary, Austria, or the Czech Republic, all Schengen Area countries. Stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period are permitted without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for Schengen Area travel, is not yet mandatory. When it launches, we will contact you in advance.
