Mallorca Magic: 7-Day Road Trip

Welcome to Mallorca! Start your adventure by arriving in Palma de Mallorca, picking up your rental car at the airport, and heading straight to Calvia, a scenic 30-minute drive away. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

Suggestion for the day:

Depending on when you arrive you can spend some time exploring Calvia’s quaint town center, visiting the Iglesia de Sant Joan Baptista, and soaking up the local atmosphere. Spoil your inner gourmet with Mallorcan specialties at a local café, such as "tumbet" or "sobrasada." You can also drive to Sant Elm, a picturesque fishing village about 40 minutes away. The charming village center is made up of a cluster of fine restaurants, cafés, and shops. Check them out. Sant Elm is also the gateway to La Trapa Nature Reserve and Sa Dragonera, the striking island that looks like a dragon’s tail, or a capsized sailboat.  Sa Dragonera is a protected island, which can be accessed by boat from Sant Elm. For the best views of Sa Dragonera, venture up to La Trapa Ruins. In the evening return to Calvia and refresh at your accommodation, perhaps taking a dip in the pool. For dinner, savor local dishes paired with Mallorcan wine at a restaurant in town or your hotel. End your day with a peaceful night's sleep.

• Begin your day with a delightful breakfast in Calvia, then set off mid-morning for the scenic drive along the Ma-10 road towards Sóller. Your first stop is Valldemossa, an enchanting town nestled in the Tramuntana mountains, just a 45-minute drive away. Spend your late morning wandering through the charming streets, visiting the historic Valldemossa Monastery, and perhaps picking up some local pastries from Pastisseria Ca’n Molinas.
• Continue your journey to the picturesque village of Deià, renowned for its tranquility and stunning views. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local eatery, soaking in the serene atmosphere and perhaps spotting some celebrities who frequent this idyllic spot. After lunch, drive the remaining short distance to Sóller, arriving by mid-afternoon. Check into your accommodation, such as the stylish Hotel El Guía, located near the main square, Plaza de la Constitución.
• Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Sóller’s vibrant town center, visiting the beautiful Sant Bartomeu Church and enjoying a gelato from a local shop. For dinner, savor traditional Mallorcan cuisine at a local restaurant, paired with regional wines. After dinner, take a leisurely evening stroll through the atmospheric streets of Sóller, before retiring to your hotel for a restful night’s sleep, ready for more adventures in the Tramuntana mountains the following day​.

• Start your day with a delicious breakfast in Sóller, preparing for a day of exploration in the Tramuntana mountains. In the morning, drive to the nearby village of Fornalutx, often described as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Wander through its narrow, cobbled streets, admiring the traditional stone houses and the stunning mountain views. Enjoy a coffee at a local café in the charming village square.
• Afterward, head back to Sóller and take the vintage tram to Port de Sóller, a picturesque coastal area with a beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay. Spend some time walking along the promenade, visiting the marina, and perhaps taking a boat trip to explore the coastline. For lunch, choose one of the many seafront restaurants in Port de Sóller, where you can enjoy fresh seafood with a view of the Mediterranean.
• In the afternoon, return to Sóller and embark on a scenic hike. Consider the Barranc de Biniaraix, a beautiful and moderately challenging trail that takes you through ancient stone paths, and terraced landscapes, and offers stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. In the evening, relax back in Sóller, enjoying a leisurely dinner at a local restaurant. Sample traditional dishes such as "arròs brut" (a hearty rice dish) or "frito mallorquín" (a local vegetable and meat fry). After dinner, take a peaceful stroll through the town, perhaps stopping for a drink at a cozy bar or café.
