MSC Mediterranean Cruise: Barcelona, Provence, Florence & Rome

The Yes Getaways MSC Mediterranean Cruise package includes round-trip flights, 2 nights in a Barcelona hotel (1 on arrival, 1 after disembarkation), transfers between Barcelona Airport and hotel on both arrival and departure days, transfers between the Barcelona hotel and cruise port on both boarding and disembarkation days, 7 nights on board the MSC Sinfonia, full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day on the cruise), and all taxes and fees related to the booking. Drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, and breakfast at the Barcelona hotel are not included but can be added during the booking process.

The MSC Sinfonia departs from Barcelona on day 1 at 5:30 PM. The route covers 6 ports across 3 countries: Marseille, France (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 5:00 PM), gateway to Provence and the French Riviera. Genoa, Italy (arrive 8:00 AM, depart 7:00 PM), gateway to Portofino. Livorno, Italy (arrive 7:00 AM, depart 8:00 PM), gateway to Florence, Pisa, and Tuscany. Civitavecchia, Italy (arrive 7:00 AM, depart 7:00 PM), gateway to Rome. One day at sea. Valencia, Spain (arrive 7:00 AM, depart 9:00 PM). The ship returns to Barcelona on day 8 at 9:00 AM.

Full board means breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included every day during the 7-night cruise. Meals are served in the ship's main restaurant and buffet. Drinks are not included and are purchased separately on board. A drinks package can be added during the booking process. 

A transfer from your Barcelona hotel to the cruise port is included on boarding day. The MSC Sinfonia departs from the Terminal de Creuers in Barcelona, located in the southern waterfront area near Barceloneta. On disembarkation day, a transfer from the port back to your Barcelona hotel is also included. You do not need to arrange your own transport at either end. 

The ship
The MSC Sinfonia carries 2,546 passengers in 980 cabins, including 132 suites with private balconies. The design is distinctly Italian, with natural wood, brass, and marble throughout.

Dining
Main restaurants serve international and Mediterranean menus. The buffet is open throughout the day with a pasta station, daily special corner, and dessert corner. All meals in the main restaurants and buffet are included in the cruise fare. Specialty restaurants are available at an additional cost.

Entertainment
A Broadway-style theatre with nightly shows, casino, lounge bars, outdoor bars, and theme parties including a Sailaway Party on departure.

Sports and fitness
Pool deck, tennis court, basketball court, five-a-side football pitch, minigolf, volleyball court, and a Technogym fitness center with ocean views.

Spa and wellness
The MSC Aurea Spa offers massage treatments, a thermal area, hair salon, beauty salon, and barber shop. All at additional cost.

Families
Dedicated Kids Clubs, a Baby Club, and LEGO Experience. The ship accommodates families throughout.

Three ports on this itinerary are gateways rather than destinations in themselves. Genoa is the port for Portofino, approximately 35 km away by boat or road. Livorno is the port for Florence, approximately 80 km away by train or coach. Civitavecchia is the port for Rome, approximately 80 km away by train. Time ashore varies by port so plan excursions carefully. The Yes Getaways team can add the right shore excursions to your quote.

If you would like to upgrade to a higher cabin category, or if you have a preference for a specific cabin location such as a forward, midship, or aft position, a particular deck, or proximity to elevators, contact the Yes Getaways team before booking. We will confirm available options and do our best to accommodate your request. Cabin location and upgrades are subject to availability at the time of booking, and additional costs may apply.

None of the three are included in the package price, but all can be added during the booking process. Drinks are purchased on board or as a pre-purchased package. Wi-Fi packages are available for purchase before departure or on board. Gratuities are charged as a daily service fee per person and can be prepaid during the booking process.

No. All shore excursions are optional and at additional cost. Popular options at each port include the calanques and Old Port of Marseille, a boat trip to Portofino from Genoa, the Uffizi Gallery and Duomo in Florence from Livorno, the Colosseum and Vatican from Civitavecchia, and the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. Breakfast is not included by default at the Barcelona hotel on either night. It can be added during the booking process. The package includes 4-star hotels in Barcelona, all centrally located. The package price varies depending on the hotel selected. Properties range from the Gothic Quarter and Las Ramblas area to the Barceloneta waterfront, all within easy reach of the cruise port on boarding day. No. City taxes are not included and are paid directly at the Barcelona hotel on arrival or checkout.

Yes. The Yes Getaways team can add nights in another European city before or after the cruise. Popular combinations include Madrid or Seville before flying into Barcelona, or a few nights on the Costa Brava after disembarkation. Yes. Barcelona rewards extra time. The Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Família, Park Güell, and the Picasso Museum all take more than one evening to do properly. The Western Mediterranean is best from late spring through early autumn. May and June offer warm temperatures around 22°C to 26°C (72°F to 79°F), calm seas, and manageable crowds at the main sights. July and August reach 28°C to 32°C (82°F to 90°F), the warmest and busiest period with peak tourist season in Rome, Florence, and Barcelona. September and October stay warm at around 20°C to 26°C (68°F to 79°F), quieter crowds and one of the best windows for this route.

US and Canadian passport holders do not currently need a visa for Spain, France, or Italy, all Schengen Area countries. Stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period are permitted without a visa. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. ETIAS, a pre-travel authorization for Schengen Area travel, is not yet mandatory. When it launches, it will apply to this itinerary. Entry requirements are the traveler's responsibility and can change.

All three countries are stable, well-visited destinations with no active conflicts affecting travelers. Standard precautions apply in busy tourist areas and city centers. 

This package is non-refundable once booked, including both the airfare and the cruise and hotel portions. Travel insurance with cancellation cover is strongly recommended given the non-refundable nature of the booking.
