What to Know Before Visiting Venice:

Upon arriving in Venice, note that cars cannot be driven into the city. You can park at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, and take a vaporetto (water bus) to explore the city. Alternatively, park at Mestre and take a train or bus to Venice, then a vaporetto. Most hotels offer transfers - be sure to arrange this in advance. On some dates, an access fee of EUR 5 per person applies; accommodations in Venice are exempt, but guests must request an exemption voucher before arrival.
